April Fundraising

Set up an online giving page and get your April fundraising underway!

Your Impact

Every month across the island of Ireland, approximately 40 children, teenagers and young adults (aged 0-24) will be diagnosed with cancer.

Right now, we are supporting over 1,000 families that need practical and emotional support to help guide them on their cancer journey.

By offering support in the family home, out in the community, on the hospital wards in Belfast and Dublin, and at our beautiful therapeutic short break centre, Daisy Lodge, in Newcastle, Co. Down we can connect, empower, and strengthen families so they feel better equipped to deal with whatever cancer throws at them.

Construction of our second Daisy Lodge, located on the shores of Lough Corrib near Cong, Co. Mayo, is currently underway with the doors set to open in Spring 2027. This second Daisy Lodge will allow us to increase the number of children, teenagers, young adults and parents we support each year from 1,800 to 4,000.

This support would simply not be possible without amazing people like you by our side. By raising some vital funds this April, you can help ensure our work continues and that no child has to face cancer alone.

Whether it is a solo fundraising activity or you team up with family and friends, work colleagues, or your school, club or community group, check out our ideas below and see what inspires you 💛

April Fundraising Ideas

1

Easter Fundraising – Coffee Morning or Egg Hunt

Buy in tasty treats or get baking for an Easter coffee morning. It’s a great way to gather your guests, have a catch up over a cuppa and raise some vital funds. Or why not add in a little extra fun with an Easter egg hunt? An egg-cellent incentive to drive donations. Hop to it!

2

Yellow Day

A great one for at school or in the office, ask everyone to wear yellow for the day in support of Cancer Fund for Children in exchange for a donation. A coffee morning could tie in well with this too to boost funds raised.

3

Walk, Run, Cycle or Swim

With (hopefully!) better weather and brighter evenings, put your best foot forward in a sponsored walk or run, spin into action with a cycle or spinathon, or make a splash with a cold water swim. In support of the 40 children, teenagers and young adults diagnosed throughout April, use the number 40 to inspire you.

4

Quiz Night

Let’s get quizzical! Test your family, friends or colleagues on their general knowledge (or choose a specific theme) to raise some funds. Boost your night with a raffle.

5

Chop, Wax or Dye!

A classic fundraising event, line up some willing participants for a haircut or head shave (you can donate hair to the Little Princess Trust), wax some legs or chests, or encourage participants to dye their hair or beard.

6

Product Donation

If you own a business, choose a product to support us throughout April. For example – for every donut sold throughout April, all proceeds (or a % of proceeds) are donated to Cancer Fund for Children.

The ideas are endless – raffles, pizza nights, movie screenings, sports days, knitathons, a simple bucket collection, or anything in between.

Whatever you want to do, we are here to support you every step of the way. Set up your JustGiving or iDonate page today to get everything underway and don’t hesitate to reach out for any additional advice or materials (buckets, balloons, banners, charity literature, sponsor forms etc.) you may need. We are only ever a phone call or email away!
