Health & Wellbeing Mini Breaks
Throughout the year we hold Health and Well-Being mini breaks in Daisy Lodge for parents of children with cancer and parents who are diagnosed with cancer. These mini breaks are designed to improve overall well-being.
The mini break begins in Daisy Lodge at 10.00am with registration, introduction, tea/coffee and scones. During the mini break you will have the opportunity to avail of complementary therapies including:
Facials – a relaxing treatment to help improve the appearance of your skin
Reflexology – a relaxing foot treatment to help with symptoms associated with stress such as sleep problems, breathing, digestive problems and tension
Massage – a relaxing back massage to help with muscular tension and stress
After a healthy lunch you can attend a yoga class, which will help you to relax your body and mind.
Check in to your room is at 4.30pm. Dinner is at 6.00pm.
After dinner we will hold healthy living workshops on a variety of subjects including:
- ‘Be your own wellness coach’
- ‘Mindfulness and relaxation skills’
- ‘Emotional resilience’
- ‘Managing your energy’
Breakfast is at 9.00am the following morning and check out at 10.00am.
Numbers are limited, and priority will be given to parents who have not had the chance to attend a health and wellbeing mini break. Parents may bring a friend or carer with them (over 18s only)
Please note to attend our Health and Well-being mini breaks your family must currently be receiving support from Cancer Fund for Children. Find out more about our referral process here.
