Join us and take on Northern Ireland’s highest challenge, Slieve Donard in the beautiful Mourne Mountains, to help children and young people living with cancer across Northern Ireland.
Taking place on the Bank Holiday weekend in May, this is the perfect opportunity for you to conquer Northern Ireland’s highest peak and say that you did it! Rally your friends, family or work colleagues and take on this amazing challenge together.
Conquer the Climb
Setting off from Donard Car Park at 9.30am, we will walk for approximately 5.8 miles in total, climbing to 2,550ft and taking in the spectacular Mourne views around us. On a clear day, you will see as far as Scrabo Tower, the Wicklow Mountains and Isle of Man!
Why walk with Cancer Fund for Children
All our Slieve Donard climbers will be helping to support children, teenagers and young people living with cancer. You will receive:
- A post-climb celebration BBQ at the Anchor Bar
- Pre-climb tea and coffee (during registration in the Anchor Bar)
- Marshals and guides along the Slieve Donard route
- A fundraising pack
- Support from a Cancer Fund for Children dedicated Fundraiser to help you smash your target
- Access to fundraising materials
This is a medium challenge and participants should have a good level of fitness and some experience of walking long distances.
Walking boots with good ankle support are essential to take part in this event.
Anyone over the age of 12 can take part and all walkers under 18 years MUST be accompanied by an adult. Due to health and safety, dogs are not permitted.
We hope you decide to join us and take on the challenge of climbing Slieve Donard. Your support would be greatly appreciated and funds raised from the event will go a long way in supporting local families living with childhood cancer.
