Come together with your classmates and teachers to take on a sponsored walk and raise vital funds for children and young people impacted by cancer!
What is Mile in My Shoes?
Our Mile in My Shoes campaign encourages students of all ages to take part in a sponsored walk, wearing silly or uncomfortable shoes to reflect the often difficult path a child or young person has to walk when they are diagnosed with cancer.
Every week across the island of Ireland, approximately 10 children and young people (aged 0-24) receive a cancer diagnosis. By coming together with your classmates and teachers, you can raise vital funds so these children and their families don’t face this experience alone.
This event can be held anytime throughout the school year!
What will my school receive?
Once you sign up to fundraise for Cancer Fund for Children you will be put in contact with a member of our fundraising team who will support you. They can offer you fundraising materials and resources that you can use with your pupils to maximise your event.
Once you have completed your fundraising, you can request a cheque presentation so you can celebrate your pupils and their incredible efforts.

“My life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed. I had multiple rounds of chemo and two cell transplants, and after treatment, I felt like I almost forgot what it was like to have a normal life.
Cancer Fund for Children provided me with a Cancer Support Specialist who came to my house to support me. When you’re going through cancer, you don’t need people to fix things, you just want them to listen and that’s what they did.
That’s why I am encouraging schools to get in involved in Miles in my Shoes. Your efforts will help this charity be there for more young people like me.”
