The Challenge

Cancer Fund for Children are thrilled to welcome back our Dragon Boat Race for 2026!

It’s time to pick up those paddles and gather your team to battle it out on the River Lagan against local businesses, clubs and community groups to be named Dragon Boat Race Champs for 2026. It’s the perfect day out for fun team building, a little healthy competition, and, most importantly, raising vital funds to help ensure no child has to face cancer alone.

No previous experience is required and the well trained team from Bryson will be on hand to provide on the day training and helm your boats.

KEY EVENT INFO

Date: Saturday 13th June 2026
Location: Bryson LaganSports – 2 Rivers Edge, 13-15 Ravenhill Road, Belfast, BT6 8DN
Registration: £500 per team – minimum team of 12 people per boat, max 18 people
Fundraising: £1,500 per team – our Fundraising Team will be on hand to support you every step of the way in achieving your target!
Times: Arrive for 9.30am
On day set up: Each team will have 2 time trials – the 2 teams with the fastest single times will then battle it out in a Grand Finale!
Prizes: On the day prizes are up for grabs for fastest team, top fundraising team and best fancy dress!
We will also have entertainment throughout the day and catering for all our amazing participants.
Restrictions: Anyone aged 16 and over can participate in this event. Members of your team should be reasonably fit and able to swim, though all participants will be given a buoyancy aid to wear when on the water. For anyone with any medical conditions, we ask you speak with your doctor before participating. If you are unsure whether you should participate, don’t hesitate to reach out and we can speak with our event providers.

Your Impact

Every month across the island of Ireland, another 40 children and young people (aged 0-24) are diagnosed with cancer.

Cancer Fund for Children simply could not be there to provide the right support at the right time without amazing people like you by our side.

By taking on the River Lagan this June and battling it out to become our Dragon Boat Race Champs, you are helping us empower, connect and strengthen families, so they feel equipped to deal with whatever cancer throws at them. Together, we can help ensure no child has to face cancer alone.
