Help us create special moments for children, young people and families impacted by cancer this Christmas by hosting your own fundraising event!
Why your support matters
Fundraising in aid of Cancer Fund for Children this Christmas is a great way to get into the festive spirit while raising vital funds in support of children and young people impacted by cancer across the island of Ireland. Get stuck in with family and friends at home, at work or in your school, or with your local club or community group.
In December alone, up to 40 children and young people (aged 0-24) could be diagnosed with cancer.
Our support in family homes, on the hospital ward and at our therapeutic short break centre Daisy Lodge is only possible with amazing people like you by our side. Thank you for helping us to give the gift of joy and create special moments for these children, young people, and their families, so they don’t have to face cancer alone this Christmas.
The first step on your fundraising journey is choosing your event! Choose one of our ideas below or come up with one of your own.
12 Days of Christmas
Solo or with a team, set yourself a 12 day challenge! Walk 12,000 steps a day, skip for 12 minutes every day, or complete 12,000 push ups as a group in 12 days… get creative with it!
Jumper Day
Get all wrapped up with family, friends or colleagues by donning your best (or worst!) Christmas jumper. Maximise your day with an added coffee morning or raffle.
Coffee Morning / Bake Sale
Whether buying in or baking up a storm, a festive coffee morning or bake sale is a great way to gather your guests, have fun, and raise some vital funds.
Get Crafty
Organise a Christmas crafts day or evening – it could be bauble decorating, wreath making, candle making, card making, or even a Christmas knitathon.
Quizmas
Let’s get quizzical! Test your family, friends or colleagues on their Christmas knowledge to raise some funds… which famous 2003 Christmas movie did Liam Neeson star in?
Walk, Run, Cycle or Swim
Put your best foot forward in a sponsored walk or run, spin into action with a cycle or spinathon, or make a splash with a cold water swim.
Present Wrapping
Choose a location and host a gift wrapping service this December. You can charge a set fee or simply ask for donations. Make those gifts look bow-tiful!
Secret Santa
Instead of spending £/€10 on Secret Santa gifts, ask those taking part to set the limit to £/€8 and have everyone donate the spare £/€2. Or ask everyone to donate the full £/€10 in lieu of Secret Santa gifts this year.
Product Donation
If you own a business, choose a product to support us this festive season. For example – for every Christmas dinner sold, £/€2 could be donated to Cancer Fund for Children.
I've chosen my event. What's next?

2) When your page is ready to go, share your event details and your fundraising link far and wide. The more people that know about your incredible efforts, the more people that will want to show their support.
3) If you require additional advice or supporting fundraising materials (such as sponsorship forms, balloons, banners, buckets or t-shirts) to help make the most out of your event, our Fundraising Team are only ever a phone call or email away.
