ReadOn

Encourage pupils to explore the joy of reading while raising vital funds in support of children impacted by cancer!

What is Readon?

ReadOn is Cancer Fund for Children’s school reading initiative that encourages pupils to read for fun whilst helping to support children and young people impacted by cancer. During ReadOn, children are sponsored to read more for fun, at home or in school. Pupils can read anything from comics to poetry and younger children can listen to stories or use picture books. ReadOn is ideal for any age group!

ReadOn can take place anytime throughout the school year but it is an especially good fit for Library’s Week in October, Non-Fiction November and World Book Day in March.

This year we have teamed up with Paulo and Rebecca from the Cool FM Breakfast team. Once you register for ReadOn you will have the opportunity to enter a competition to win a visit from a presenter on World Book Day (5th March 2026)!

What will my school receive?

Once you register your school will receive a ReadOn pack including;

  • Bookmark and pencil for every pupil
  • Posters, balloons and banner to help decorate your school
  • £20 One4all voucher to award to your Top ReadOn reader/fundraiser
  • Opportunity to book a visit from our School Fundraiser to introduce ReadOn and explain the work of the charity
Why take part?

Pupils have fun and feel inspired to read for pleasure, setting and reaching their own challenges!

ReadOn is a fantastic way to introduce pupils to new authors and books!

Schools have reported that during ReadOn, more pupils visit the library!

As well as encouraging pupils to read more, our prize draw and incentive for pupils are great reasons to get involved!

Your school's vital efforts will be making a difference in the lives of children and young people impacted by cancer!
