Boojum raise over £22,000 in support of families impacted by cancer
Popular burrito restaurant Boojum invited customers to add a small donation to their bill throughout the month of June to raise vital funds to help ensure we're there for families when they need us most.
Founded in Belfast in 2007, Boojum has become Ireland’s most loved Mexican restaurant chain, with 17 restaurants across the island. This campaign in support of our services raised an incredible £22,400 to ensure no child faces cancer alone.
Local businessman Graeme Neill, Managing Director of CRN Financial Group, has been instrumental in establishing this all-Ireland partnership between Cancer Fund for Children and Boojum in support of his fundraising efforts through our recent 26 Mountains 2 Mayo challenge. Participants, alongside friends, family, colleagues and the business community, raised a phenomenal £1.6m / €1.8m to support children and young people impacted by cancer.
We are so incredibly grateful to team at Boojum for supporting our work to ensure no child faces cancer alone. The vital funds raised through this campaign will make a real difference for children, young people and families impacted by cancer. Every week across the island of Ireland, approximately 10 children and young people (age 0-24) receive a cancer diagnosis. The support of local organisations and campaigns like this one are so important in helping to ensure we can be there for these children and their families when they need us most.
Sarah Clements, Partnership and Philanthropy Lead Executive at Cancer Fund for Children
We were delighted to partner with Cancer Fund for Children to raise vital funds as part of their historic 26 Mountains 2 Mayo challenge. Our teams across the island of Ireland were so energised to be participating in fundraising for such a worthy cause. We’d also like to extend a massive thank you to our valued customers who were so responsive to our efforts and whose contributions made this all possible. We’re looking forward to more exciting fundraising initiatives with Cancer Fund for Children in the future.
