Join us in Offaly for our Bog Run and support children with cancer
Cancer Fund for Children invites you to get stuck in at their inaugural Bog Run at Lough Boora Discovery Park, Co. Offaly on 24th March. Open to ages 8+, this is the perfect family day out, and a great opportunity to have fun with friends, colleagues or your local sports club!
Cancer Fund for Children’s Bog Run invites participants to challenge themselves against nature. Take on some seriously swampy conditions as you trek through bushes, defeat fallen trees, and march through the muddy bog at Lough Boora Discovery Park. Throw away the wellies, folks; they’re no good to you on this run! Instead, strap those old runners to your feet, don your fanciest swimming cap and register for your place on the course, all while supporting a great cause.
Cancer Fund for Children are a non-profit organisation that provide vital services to children and young people (0-24) diagnosed with cancer across the island of Ireland. Their team of Cancer Support Specialists provide informal emotional, social and therapeutic support, at home, in hospital and at the charity’s therapeutic short break centre, Daisy Lodge, in Newcastle Co. Down. Plans are also underway for the development of the second Daisy Lodge centre in Cong, Co. Mayo. The charity’s mission is to ensure that no child has to face cancer alone.
This will be Cancer Fund for Children’s ninth annual Bog Run, and after a fantastic event at Castlewellan Forest Park in 2023, the charity are excited to get stuck in (literally!) at this year’s midlands location.
It’s hard to put into words the uniqueness of this event and the fun that is to be had by all participants. It’s just a great way to challenge yourself and have great craic, all while helping to support children and young people diagnosed with cancer.
