Cancer Fund for Children Host Memory Walk

On Sunday 7th December, we will host our Memory Miles, a 2 mile walk along the Newcastle promenade for those wishing to honour a loved one who has passed away.

The evening will start at the Slieve Donard Resort & Spa in Newcastle, Co. Down. After completing their walk, attendees will return to the Slieve Donard to enjoy refreshments and a crafts activity led by one of our Cancer Support Specialists which will allow them to leave with a meaningful gift in celebration of their loved ones.

This is our first ever Memory Miles event and we’re so proud to be hosting it in Newcastle, a very special community which has given Cancer Fund for Children and our therapeutic short break centre, Daisy Lodge, so much support over the years. The aim of this event is to bring people together in a safe and supportive space where they can remember their loved ones and find comfort in making new memories with friends.

Whatever your experience of loss, whether it be in or outside the world of cancer, we want everyone to feel welcome to take part in this event. We really hope you can join us to make this evening really special.

This event is being sponsored by The Walk in Wardrobe.

Community means everything to us, and Memory Miles is a powerful reminder of what can happen when people come together in support of one another. We’re privileged to support this event and the ongoing work of Cancer Fund for Children.

The funds raised through this event will allow us to provide even more services to families who need them, at home, in hospital and at our therapeutic short break centre, Daisy Lodge.
