We understand that the death of a child can have a devastating impact on families. We want you to know we are there for you throughout this time, providing a range of support through our team of Cancer Support Specialists.
We can provide children and young people aged 5–24-year-olds who have been bereaved of a sibling with individual support and therapeutic short breaks for the whole family at Daisy Lodge. We also provide an opportunity to connect with other bereaved parents through a facilitated online parents group.
Reach out as soon as you can! The sessions are invaluable and have helped ease the burden of managing the children’s grief on top of my own. For me, delivering the sessions in the school setting was invaluable as that was where my son struggled most. So grateful Joe was able to accommodate it. He learned new coping mechanisms and has become more confident in dealing with his emotions in the school setting.

As Cancer Fund for Children does not operate as a standalone bereavement service, families must be open to our services at the time of their bereavement to avail of this support. For signposting to other bereavement support services please visit Irish Childhood Bereavement Network
