Your Impact
In 2024, the New Beginning Cycling Club challenge from Dublin to Clifden raised €25,000 in support of Cancer Fund for Children’s Daisy Lodge Mayo project which aims to bring a therapeutic short break facility to the shores of Lough Corrib in 2027. In 2025, the Club took on a Dublin to Cong challenge raising a phenomenal €66,000.
When a child is diagnosed with cancer, life changes for the whole family. Our therapeutic services help each family member cope with the emotional impact of cancer and allows them to simply be a family again.
The need for another therapeutic centre is massive. Due to capacity challenges and high demand, we can only provide one in seven families from across the island of Ireland with a therapeutic short break together. At any one time there is a waiting list of over 50 families waiting to come to Daisy Lodge in Newcastle, Co. Down.
Our second Daisy Lodge, Co. Mayo will allow us to increase the number of children and parents we support each year from 1,800 to 4,000. Construction is currently underway and we hope to open the doors in early Spring 2027. Find out more about Daisy Lodge Mayo by clicking here.
By joining the 2026 cycle, you can help ensure that not only can this safe haven can be offered to families come 2027, but that our vital work supporting families in their own homes in every province and also on the hospital wards can continue.
