Short Breaks Update | Daisy Lodge

 In News

Following overwhelming feedback from families and the easing of lockdown restrictions, we are delighted to share the news that therapeutic short breaks in Daisy Lodge will recommence from Friday 3rd July.

We have been busy getting ready and are putting in place measures to ensure the comfort and safety of children, families, and our staff. As we gradually start to reintroduce our therapeutic short break service, we will initially be offering short breaks to one family at a time and will continue to review this as the advice from government changes.

Our staff will be equipped with all the necessary PPE. There will be lots of new signage, a new temperature check unit has been installed and we have reviewed our hygiene and social distancing measures to ensure peace of mind whilst we continue to deliver nurturing short breaks.

New Measures in Place in Daisy Lodge

In this short video our Residential Services Manager Raph O’Connor shares some of the measures we have introduced to ensure the health, safety and comfort of families and staff in Daisy Lodge.

What won’t change?

Our commitment to meeting the needs of children and families struggling with the emotional impact of cancer. An overwhelming 93% of families who took part in our recent consultation said that they need a short break now more than ever and we are glad to be taking this step to ensure that families do not have to face cancer alone.
