Rory Best Visits Daisy Lodge

On Friday 11th May, Ulster and Ireland rugby Captain Rory Best paid a surprise visit to our therapeutic short break centre, Daisy Lodge.

We were delighted that he brought the Six Nations and Triple Crown trophies with him following Ireland’s triumphant wins at this year’s Six Nations.

Rory enjoyed meeting with staff and families, getting photos taken and sharing some tales of his team’s historic and memorable win.

Shoulder to Shoulder

This is not the first time Rory has visited Daisy Lodge, having previously popped in along with teammate Jacob Stockdale in February.

During this visit, the players enjoyed a tour of the facility, and found out more about the services provided to families affected by cancer, to help them cope with their diagnosis.

Speaking about Daisy Lodge, Rory said:

“It was absolutely fantastic to see around this amazing facility and meet young people and families.  This is an incredible place for families affected by cancer. Keep up the great work.”

Special Memories

Huge thanks to Rory and his family for calling in, and taking the time to create some very special memories for the families we support. Visits like this really do make a difference, helping to lift spirits, and bring families together during a very difficult time.

You are welcome anytime Rory!
