We can help by offering specialist therapeutic services to children, young people and their families where a child aged 0-24 has been diagnosed with cancer or a parent of a child aged 0-24 has been diagnosed with cancer.
Our Criteria for support is:
Children and young people
Children and young people aged 0-24 diagnosed with cancer in the last 2 years.
Support is also offered where a child has had a reoccurrence of their disease or they have been given a palliative diagnosis within the last year.
Parents/Carers
Parents diagnosed within the last year, or diagnosed prior to this date, but have disease recurrence in the last year and have a child aged 0-17.
As we are not a standalone bereavement service, we cannot accept referrals where pre-bereavement support is unlikely/not possible eg: were someone has short weeks to live.
All diagnosed parents/their families will be offered one short break at Daisy lodge.
Support for diagnosed parents with children under the age of 5 will consist of one short break at Daisy Lodge.
