School Pupils Urged to Pick Up A Book To Help Children With Cancer!

 In Fundraising, News

As we approach International School Library Month this October, we are calling on schools across Northern Ireland to take part in our ReadOn sponsored reading initiative and help celebrate the importance of libraries.

Our ReadOn campaign, which is sponsored by EUROSPAR & ViVOXTRA, encourages both Primary and Secondary school pupils to read for pleasure whilst raising money to help support local children living with cancer in Northern Ireland and their families.

Our School Fundraiser, Rebecca Oates, explains how ReadOn works,

“ReadOn is a perfect example of children helping other children by doing something as wonderful as reading. This is a fun and educational campaign for schools that encourages pupils to be sponsored to read their favourite books.  School Library Month is the ideal time to take part and encourage pupils to make use of the excellent resource they have in their own school library.”

Bronagh Luke, Head of Corporate Marketing at Henderson Group, owners of EUROSPAR and ViVOXTRA franchises in Northern Ireland is encouraging local schools to get on board,

“This is the fifth year we have sponsored Cancer Fund for Children’s ReadOn initiative and we are delighted to be part of it again. I would urge as many schools as possible to sign up and support this great cause.”

Schools that sign up this team will receive a free ReadOn pack with posters and teaching resources. Every pupil will receive a bookmark and pencil as a thank you for taking part and our School’s Fundraiser can also visit schools to introduce ReadOn and explain the work of the charity.
