Ballyclare High School is delighted to have supported Cancer Fund for Children's ReadOn campaign over the past number of years. Participating in ReadOn is a great way to encourage the enjoyment of reading amongst our pupils but it also makes them aware of the needs of many young people their age and enables them to make a practical difference to the lives of families across Northern Ireland.
When Micéal passed away, as a family we decided to fundraise for Cancer Fund for Children in Micéals memory. We chose the Bog Run because we know Micéal would have loved the idea of coming in first, ahead of all the family rotten from head to toe - even though it's not a race, that would be his competitive nature. We would encourage as many people as possible to join us and do what they can to raise money for an amazing charity like Cancer Fund for Children.
“As part of our Pastoral Care policy in St Ita’s we stress the importance of keeping safe in the sun. Hats and Shades is a great way of helping us promote this message to children, whilst also raising money for Cancer Fund for Children.”
