Greiner Packaging Wrap Up Year of Support for Cancer Fund for Children

 In News

Greiner Packaging, a leading producer of sustainable packaging, has marked the magnificent milestone of raising over £20,000 in aid of Cancer Fund for Children!

The Dungannon based firm selected us as their Charity Partner for 2020 and originally set a target of raising £10,000 to help the charity provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people impacted by cancer.

Undeterred by the start of coronavirus pandemic, Greiner Packaging’s dedicated fundraising committee organised a host of fundraising events and campaigns, including raffles, quizzes, a 100km challenge and a cycle challenge. With support from staff, customers, and suppliers, they smashed their original fundraising target raising £10,314. The business very generously matched the funds raised taking their total to a staggering £20,314. They also kindly donated Christmas gifts and Amazon vouchers to gift to children and young people affected by cancer.

Speaking about the success of the partnership which combined fundraising with a focus on staff well-being, Philip Woolsey, Greiner Packaging CEO, said,

We set 10 strategic objectives for delivery in 2020, and we’ve delivered on almost all. However the one that is closest to many of our hearts is the money raised and donated to Cancer Fund for Children. We set the goal not knowing how to do it, but the charity team was formed, and with creativity, passion and persistence, they found ways to engage people and raise phenomenal amounts. It’s benefited our business with improved teamwork and fun, and for some of us, it’s improved our health and well-being as well.

Alex Murdock, Cancer Fund for Children’s Corporate Fundraiser, added,

It was an absolute pleasure to work with all the team at Greiner throughout 2020 and see their energy and dedication in supporting local families impacted by cancer, despite what a difficult year it has been for us all. While 2020 did not allow us a usual partnership of meeting regularly in person and engaging with staff on site, I was able to enjoy some great online quizzes with the team. It was wonderful to see everyone connecting while working from home and showed just how much fundraising activities can bring teams together and support workplace well-being. I cannot thank all at Greiner Packaging enough for their dedication to our partnership, and their wonderful donation which will help us to ensure no child has to face cancer alone as we move through 2021.

Greiner Packaging would like to give special thanks to Quinn Packaging, McShane Packaging, Cardbox Packaging, Xtrupak and Orchard Refrigeration for their kind donations to Cancer Fund for Children.

All the funds raised by Grenier Packaging will help Cancer Fund for Children provide emotional support and free therapeutic short breaks at a time when young people and families need their support more than ever.
