Gordons Chemists continue to support children with cancer throughout the pandemic
Gordons Chemists have been supporters of Cancer Fund for Children for a number of years but despite having a busy year helping their local communities throughout the pandemic, the staff in Gordons Chemists continued to safely raise funds for children and young people impacted by cancer.
Whilst many fundraising efforts came to a halt during the coronavirus pandemic, we continued to provide essential emotional support to families living with cancer by working to reduce isolation, anxiety, and stress.
During the pandemic, Gordons Chemists raised an amazing £5,000 and have plans to support more of our great initiatives including a sun safety campaign encouraging children to stay safe when enjoying the summer weather.
Marketing Manager at Gordons Chemists, Melanie Talbot helped co-ordinate the fundraising efforts says,
“Gordons Chemists and Cancer Fund for Children have worked together for a number of years now and I wanted to make sure that we were able to continue our support during the pandemic. Whilst we may not have been able to carry out all the fundraising ideas we would have liked, all our stores and staff at head office got behind any activities we were able to roll out. I am so glad we were able to support Cancer Fund for Children and the amazing work they do and really look forward to our collaboration growing in the coming years. ”
Sarah Clements, Cancer Fund for Children Corporate Fundraiser commented;
“We are so grateful for the support of Gordons Chemists over the years and appreciate that fundraising has been particularly challenging this year. We want to thank the staff from across all 54 stores for their continued support and show our appreciation to them for keeping their communities safe throughout this year. We look forward to working with Gordons Chemists more over the next year and building the momentum of this fantastic partnership.”
