Santa Cause 2023

Join our Santa Cause campaign and help ensure no child faces cancer alone this Christmas

This Christmas, Cancer Fund for Children will continue to support families, providing festive cheer and a little magic to children and young people impacted by cancer.

Throughout November and December alone, up to 80 children and young people (aged 0-24) across the island of Ireland will be diagnosed with cancer.

With amazing businesses, clubs, schools, groups, and individuals by our side this festive season, we can help ensure these children and their families don’t have to face this experience alone.

From buying our bespoke Christmas cards, to making a direct donation or signing up for a fundraising event, there are so many ways you can get involved and help us support children and young people impacted by cancer.

How you can get involved...

Zion was diagnosed with cancer in December 2020, two days before Christmas. He remained in hospital pretty much full time due to complications, with only the odd day here and there for home leave.

In the run up to Zion’s first cancerversary Cancer Fund For Children reached out and we were able to have a short stay in the stunning facilities they have in Newcastle – Daisy Lodge. For us to be able to have a weekend together out of hospital and our home was such a treat. We knew Zion would be safe with regards to infection control, Covid restrictions and it was other cancer families in the same boat but facing different storms. Zion got to play in a park for the first time in two years, it was simply perfect.

There is no other service like it in Northern Ireland and soon to be South of Ireland. It is unique and there is something just so beautifully special about the environment and the staff. As parents going through the unimaginable with their kids, it really is a space to get your breath back in the middle of the chaos.

We couldn't support children like Zion without your help

Did you know that over this festive season, our team at Daisy Lodge in Newcastle, Co. Down will host 96 families for a free therapeutic short break?

That is up to 432 individuals who will be welcomed through the doors of Daisy Lodge for rest, relaxation and a space to spend quality time together as a family.

Up to 4,320 warming meals will be skilfully crafted and prepared by our Hospitality Team while up to 84 therapeutic group workshops will be delivered to families by our Daisy Lodge Cancer Support Specialists including games, Christmas crafts and much more.

Daisy Lodge will only close for 2 days over the festive period to ensure that we can be there for as many families as possible.
