Santa Cause 2022

Join Cancer Fund for Children’s Santa Cause campaign and help ensure no child faces cancer alone this Christmas

This Christmas, Cancer Fund for Children will continue to support families, providing festive cheer and a little magic to children and young people impacted by cancer.

Our Cancer Support Specialist Gill alongside Ben and Angela – a family Gill supports – want you to get involved this Christmas and help us ensure young people and families impacted by cancer receive the right support at the right time.

From donning your best (or worst!) Christmas jumpers for a day of fun, taking part in our Presents for Pounds campaign with your school, to donating and leaving a special message on our Virtual Christmas Tree, there are so many ways you can have fun while also ensuring no child has to face cancer alone. We will also be taking to the streets of Belfast for a special Christmas Collection and would appreciate any happy helpers who could come along!

Get Involved

We’ll let Gill, Angela, and Ben tell you more about why you should join the Santa Cause

I met Ben and his mum Angela in May 2022, in the family home. I got to know Ben and his older brother James, playing card games, and chatting. Angela was keen that Ben have additional support to try and process his feelings and emotions around her cancer diagnosis and have the opportunity to talk to someone outside the immediate family.

Angela and Ben are joining our Christmas appeal this festive season. I’m blown away by their help and so proud that I have had a positive impact on this experience for them and that they want to help us ensure this support is available for all families.

Gill, a Cancer Support Specialist with Cancer Fund for Children

“It’s hard to put into words how much Cancer Fund for Children has helped me and my kids. My youngest Ben loves to see his Cancer Support Specialist Gill coming. It gives him his own wee time out and a break from the reality of cancer.

People should support Cancer Fund for Children this Christmas because this charity helps you feel less alone.”

Angela, Diagnosed Mum

“What I like most about Cancer Fund for Children is working with Gill. It’s fun doing all the activities with her, like when we made my support tree. I felt excited doing it and it helped me think about all the people in my life that I can turn to for help and support.”

Ben, Angela's Son

Our support for families like Ben & Angela’s this Christmas…

Did you know that over this festive season alone, Gill and our team of Cancer Support Specialists will provide up to 400 individual support sessions for young people just like Ben in the family home and the local community?

We simply cannot be here for families like Ben’s without you.

Setting up your own event

Planning your own event is a great way to support us.

Whether organising a gala dinner, head shave, fun day or football match, there will be an event to suit you, and we'll be here to support you every step of the way.
