The Challenge

With no previous training required, the firewalking experience is designed to ignite the spirit of courage within participants allowing you to overcome fears and walk confidently across a bed of glowing embers. This ancient tradition symbolises the power to overcome challenges and instills a sense of accomplishment that lasts a lifetime.

The arrow breaking activity which takes place during your firewalk training is a testament to the power of focused determination as you break it using only the force of your own body. This impactful exercise serves as a methaphor for breaking through barriers and overcoming obstacles in life.

The evening will be facilitated by experienced instructors Gerry Dalton and Tony Dunton. Registration starts at 6pm with everything finished up no later than 9.30pm. Event open to those aged 16+.

We ask participants to raise a minimum of £120 in sponsorship to participate in this event.

The Impact

In February alone, up to another 40 children and young people across the island of Ireland will be diagnosed with cancer.

By taking on this Firewalk challenge, you can help to ensure we can be there to provide the right support at the right time.

At Cancer Fund for Children, we understand the devastating impact a cancer diagnosis and its treatment have on the whole family, and that beyond the essential medical care, there is a family life that needs to be rebuilt. But we simply could be there for them without you.

With the vital funds you raise, you can support our incredible team of Cancer Support Specialists provide one-to-one support in the family home, in the community, on the hospital wards, and at Daisy Lodge, our therapeutic short break centre in Newcastle, Co. Down. Building work for our second Daisy Lodge in Cong, Co. Mayo will soon get underway with the doors opening to welcome families in January 2026.

Sign up today and together we can ensure no child has to face cancer alone.
