Daisy Dander

This is our fun and interactive sponsored walk event perfect for Nursery and Primary aged pupils. It doesn’t have to be a long walk, but whatever distance you choose you will be provided with daisy arrows to guide everyone and daisy stops along the way with questions and activities for the children to complete. It can take place in school, or a local park and you can choose when to hold it.

What will my school receive?

  • Sponsorship forms
  • Posters to advertise your event
  • Daisy arrows to mark out your route
  • Daisy Stop activities
  • Balloons, stickers and decorations

You can also request a visit from our Schools Fundraiser to explain the work of the charity to your pupils and staff. This can be a great way to kick off your event! You can also request a cheque presentation photo opportunity upon completion of your event and fundraising.

Please note that a visit to your school cannot be guaranteed and depends on staff availability.

How the money raised will help

Your school will make a difference to children and young people impacted by cancer. Every month across the island of Ireland, another 40 families are told their child has cancer.

By simply stepping out into your playground or local park for a short Daisy Dander, pupils are helping to ensure that these children receive the right support at the right time.

That could be with an individual support session in their own home helping them to deal with the impact cancer has had on live, an individual support session on the hospital ward while they are receiving treatment, or with a free therapeutic short break at Daisy Lodge in Newcastle Co. Down. Families right across the island of Ireland can avail of a short break at Daisy Lodge in Co. Down, and building works for our new Daisy Lodge in Cong, Co. Mayo will get under way in Summer 2024. We hope to open the doors of the centre in January 2026.

With us all working together, we can ensure no child has to face cancer alone.

You can register online by completing the registration form or contact rebecca@cancerfundforchildren.com.
