Get boggin’ for children with cancer!
We want you to join us this March for our first ever Bog Run in the Republic of Ireland at Lough Boora Discovery Park in Offaly.
The Bog Run is an untimed run for fun where participants of all fitness levels can challenge themselves against nature while raising money in support of children and young people impacted by cancer.
You will climb over fallen trees, crawl through bushes, get muddy, and take on the lough all whilst having amazing craic and challenging yourself for a good cause. Take on our senior Bog Run course open to those 12 years and over (12-17 year olds must be accompanied by adult), or bring the family along and tackle the junior course open to 8-14 year olds with an accompanying adult (max 2 children per adult).
Sign up today with your friends and family and together we can help ensure no child has to face cancer alone.

Every month across Ireland, approximately 30 children and young people (aged 0-24) are diagnosed with cancer. Signing up to the Bog Run will allow us to provide vital support, helping to ensure these families do not have to face this experience alone.
At Cancer Fund for Children, we understand the devastating impact a cancer diagnosis can have. Our amazing Cancer Support Specialists provide informal emotional, social and therapeutic support to children and young people diagnosed with cancer on the hospital ward at Crumlin, in local communities and in family homes. We are also building a new therapeutic short break centre for these children and their families in Cong, Co. Mayo.
This haven, Daisy Lodge, will be our second therapeutic centre across the island of Ireland and will be free of charge for families, giving them a chance to enjoy a short break in a safe and restorative space where they can escape from the pressures of cancer. We hope to begin building this essential centre in the summer of 2024.
This support simply would not be possible without amazing people like you by our side. So, whether you take on the bog with friends and colleagues or bring your kids along for a family day out, it’s time to challenge yourself this March for Cancer Fund for Children. Take on the lough, crawl through bushes, clamber over fallen trees… and of course get extremely muddy!
Together we can make a difference, so let’s get boggin’.
Not only will you have the satisfaction of conquering the bog and knowing you are supporting children, young people, and their families through their cancer journey, but you will also receive:
What more could you ask for, and what else would you be doing on a Sunday morning in March?!
