Belfast City Marathon
Sunday 5th May 2019
2019 has arrived, whether you are ready for it or not, and once again it is time for us to set our New Year’s resolutions and stick with them (this time… maybe… hopefully).
This year Cancer Fund for Children is asking you to make a resolution and stick with it. It won’t just be beneficial for you, but will have an impact on young people all over Northern Ireland living with childhood cancer. Join us for the Belfast City Marathon 2019 on Sunday 5th May.
The charity exists to provide practical, emotional and financial support at a time when it is most desperately needed. We understand the devastating impact a cancer diagnosis can have on the whole family and that beyond the essential clinical care, there is a family life that needs to be rebuilt.
Your support in this year’s Belfast City Marathon – whether you take on the full marathon, team relay, fun run, 8 mile walk, or wheelchair race – means we can continue to provide these vital services to help families through a time no-one should ever have to face.
Not that you need any more convincing, but…
The 2019 Belfast City Marathon has a completely new route which will take in some of our favourite sights of the city!
Starting off at Stormont this year, you will continue on to pass through Ormeau Park, scurry past City Hall, jog up the Donegall Road to the Rise Structure, dash down Boucher and the Lisburn Road, scamper up the Falls, Springfield Road and Ardoyne to the Waterworks, dart down to the Big Fish, and sprint (one can hope!) to the finish line at Ormeau Park.
Not only do we have a new route for 2019, but a new date too! Historically taking place on the first bank holiday Monday in May, we never had time to recharge after taking part in the marathon. Straight back into work we go. This year’s marathon is on Sunday 5th May! So you can sit back and relax, take care of any aches or pains, or heck, go out for another jaunt if you want… the most important thing is, the day is your own to do with as you please.
We’re here for you!
