Leslie Hughes brings Northern Ireland business community together to help local children with cancer
A special evening with country singing sensation Nathan Carter and the cast of West End musical, The Jersey Boys, is set to raise £100,000 to support children and families living with cancer.
Over 300 guests attended the Daisy Ball at the Culloden Estate and Spa which was organised by local businessman, Leslie Hughes OBE.
Donations from the sold-out event and an amazing live auction of “money can’t buy” prizes will help us provide practical and emotional support, as well as free therapeutic short breaks to children living with cancer and their families.
The spectacular evening included luxury auction items such as an amazing trip to Dubai and Abu Dhabi for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, a VIP Bentley experience including a trip to their factory in Crewe, the loan of a very special Bentley and accommodation in Ashford Castle in Co Mayo. One lucky bidder will also be enjoying a weekend of luxury and indulgence on a 5-star golfing weekend in Scotland, on their own private jet!
Cancer Fund for Children Chief Executive, Phil Alexander said:
“We would like to say a massive thanks to Leslie for organising this five star night of entertainment and fundraising. Leslie has been a long-standing supporter of Cancer Fund for Children and his commitment to the work we do will help us continue to connect, empower and strengthen young people and families who are struggling to cope with the devastating impact of a cancer diagnosis.”
Leslie Hughes added:
“I would like to express my sincere thanks to the many people who have so generously donated items to our Auction and Prize Draw, which raise the majority of the profit on the evening. This event does not run itself so a big thank you to our loyal supporters for all their time and effort.”
As the leading children’s cancer charity in Northern Ireland, Cancer Fund for Children understands the devastating impact a cancer diagnosis and treatment can have on the whole family and that beyond essential medical care there is a family life that needs to be rebuilt.
